Imorgon är det val i Uganda. Ska president Yoweri Museveni få lämna över till någon annan, efter mer än 25 år på posten? Jag såg honom i ett tal i nyheterna nu på morgonen, där han ifrågasatte all typ av förändring.
– Ekonomin är bra. Vi gav er fred. Utbildningssystemet expanderar. Varför skulle någon vilja ha förändring?
Vid en presskonferens i Entebbe i onsdags uteslöt han en utveckling liknande den som ägt rum i nordafrika:
– What happened in Tunisia and Egypt and what is happening in some Arab countries can not happen here. For us here we are friendly to our people. We know their problems and collectively work out ways to solve them.
Men missnöjet bland folket är stort. Jag chattade med en vän i Kampala, som är helt säker på att det blir regimskifte. Utdrag:
